Anthony Tracia is a recent graduate of the Master of Music program at UMass Amherst with a double concentration in Music Education (Research Emphasis) and Piano Performance. He holds a B.M. from UMass Lowell in Music Studies and Piano Performance. Anthony has played erhu and jinghu in a Chinese traditional orchestra based in Malden, MA, a neighboring city of his hometown, Saugus. As a pianist at UMass, he played with the Amherst Symphony Orchestra, participated with the Percussion Ensemble in the world debut of a piece by professor and composer, Salvatore Macchia, and has collaborated with fellow M.M. student, Mengxuan Zhang, in a pipa-piano arrangement of a traditional Chinese folk song. He recently completed his thesis focusing on the inclusion of students with disabilities in music classrooms.
