Haley Peltz is a jazz singer from the Boston area. She has returned to Massachusetts after almost six years in Natal and São Paulo, Brazil, where she studied Brazilian music and worked as a performer and teacher. Haley graduated from Hamilton College in New York, where she got her bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and music, focusing on the sung narrative of the early blues women. Her experience draws from many traditions—including opera, choral singing and Yiddish song—which she sees as central to her understanding of music and creativity, existing beyond genre or language. She aims to guide her students toward meaningful repertoire that will enable them to cultivate their own voice.
