Music and Pottery Summer Program – July 2021
Join Easthampton Clay and The Prindle School for their second annual summer pottery and performing arts adventure for your children ages 8 – 13.
Join us for a half-day of performing arts and a half-day of pottery exploring projects from various traditions in the visual and performing arts. We were thrilled with the success of last year’s program, but we’re still striving to make this year even better with new age-appropriate activities for more defined age groups, longer lunch breaks, more downtime midday, new projects and activities for returning students, and much more!
We are optimistic about the arrival of a vaccine for COVID-19 and hope to be able to run this program with minimal restrictions. However, we will be actively monitoring the situation from now until the start of the program and will notify all registrants of any and all modifications that we will be making to ensure the safety of the students and faculty. After running the program successfully last summer with no reported infections, we are confident that we will be able to do the same in the summer of 2021 regardless of the status of the pandemic at that time.
Performing Arts: Students will have tons of fun while they explore music, movement, and theater. We’ll learn to play the ukulele*, explore drumming techniques from around the world, dance, and play improvisational theater games.
Pottery: Students will use their imagination to create completely unique ceramic forms and will have the opportunity to further their understanding of form, function, and surface design. We will complete each week by experimenting with various finishing and glazing techniques.
*Does your child own a ukulele that they can use for the performing arts portion of the program? If not, we can provide a ukulele for you to use at no charge. However, ukuleles that we provide need to remain on site at all times, so some students prefer to have their own instrument so they can play at home in the afternoons and evenings.

Easthampton Clay was founded in October 2018 by Liz Rodriguez, a former corporate executive turned full-time potter. Liz knows first-hand the positive effects of clay. She has longed to host a pottery community where people could unplug, connect with one another through this beautiful craft, and get back to the earth.
