OnLine Lessons

The Prindle School offers the option of OnLine lessons through a variety of platforms. Instructions for accessing these platforms can be found at the bottom of this page. OnLine Lessons can take one of three forms:

  1. 100%-OnLine lessons. Students can take all of their lessons OnLine.

  2. A blend of OnSite and OnLine lessons. We can customize the blend for each student but some possibilities could include alternating between one OnSite lesson and one OnLine lesson or taking mostly OnLine lessons with one OnSite lesson per month.

  3. Occasional as-needed OnLine lessons. In the event that a student is unable to attend a normal OnSite lesson at one of our physical locations, OnLine lessons offer an opportunity to maintain the continuity of an ongoing lesson schedule.

If You Have Trouble Connecting

Before we dive into how to connect, we want to let you know what to do if the steps below don’t work for you. If you have trouble connecting for your lesson, send a text message to the email address for your room number. (Yes, you read that correctly. Send a TEXT to the email address. It works — we promise.) In your text, mention that you’re having trouble connecting and give us the following information:

  1. Your name.

  2. The platform that you’re using to connect (Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype).

  3. Your username on that platform.

With that information, your teacher can call you, which often solves the problem. If you don’t receive a call or text response within 2 minutes, call us at 844-929-1909, ext. 1.

Connect via FaceTime

FaceTime is only compatible with Apple products: iPhone, iPad, or Mac computers. To connect with your teacher via FaceTime, simply CALL IN at your lesson time using the email address that we gave you in your initial confirmation email. If you can’t find it, just email us at info@theprindleschool.com and we’ll be happy to send it again.

How to connect from a desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet:

  1. Start by hitting the plus sign inside the FaceTime app on your computer, tablet, or phone.

  2. Type the given email address into the search bar and hit enter to initiate the search.

  3. When the video call button appears, tap it and you’ll initiate the call

Connect via Zoom

Zoom is compatible with all platforms and is quickly becoming one of our favorite apps to use to connect with students. However, it does require a little more advance planning. To connect with your teacher via Zoom, just email us at info@theprindleschool.com. We will set up a Zoom meeting for you and email you with the link to the meeting prior to your lesson. Please allow us 48 hours prior to your lesson to set up the meeting for you. You only need to do this prior to your FIRST Zoom meeting. We can set up the meeting as a recurring appointment so you can connect to the same weblink any time you have a remote lesson.

If you already got a zoom link from us in your initial confirmation email, there’s no need to contact us. Just tap the link at your lesson time and you’re ready to go!
