Luke Morrissey

Luke Morrissey is a Cellist and Multi-instrumentalist located in Florence, Massachusetts. Starting the cello at age ten, and learning guitar and bass along the way, Luke spent his childhood fascinated with playing stringed instruments and learning everything he could about music. Luke focused his studies on the cello and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2018. Since then Luke has worked as a freelance musician and music instructor, performing primarily on the cello and double bass. As a performer, Luke has appeared as an Apple Hill Fellowship Artist in 2018 and regularly performs with the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.  

As a teacher Luke has experience guiding students of all ages and abilities toward their artistic goals. This includes preparing students  to play in, and audition for, school or community ensembles, competitions and collegiate auditions. Students will learn a well rounded approach to playing stringed instruments by building core skills in music theory, sight reading, and musical notation, as well as a strong foundation in stringed instrument technique.
