Serena Bratten

Serena Bratten is an oboe and English hornist based in Hartford, Connecticut. She can teach oboe and English horn, piano, and saxophone. Serena started playing piano at nine years old and shortly after began learning alto saxophone soon after. She is now a full-time oboist, having received performance degrees in the oboe from Arkansas State University and University of Hartford (The Hartt School). Her primary teachers include Dan Ross, Jung Choi, Kristin Leitterman, and Kemp Jernigan.

Serena is a freelance musician who places her focus on chamber music and solo repertoire. She is a recurring oboist with the Delta Symphony Orchestra, and has subbed with multiple orchestras in New England. She has performed in various states throughout the country and was recently a guest performer at the Connecticut All-State Festival. Prior to teaching at The Prindle School, Serena taught oboe and piano privately in her home state of Arkansas.
